If you want the whole complete collection, price rises immensely, but one can choose WHAT and WHEN to buy and add to the game, so you're actually slowly buying it piece by piece. So, your co-op partner would've to just get the TK DLC aswell, and that's not summing up to a 200 price tag. On the other hand, it's not a 200(insert any currency symbol), if one looks into it a bit more, as you can pick what you like. Because it definitely is a frustrating sight. But, I somehow understand it, yet I do understand the frustration, too. There's no real race, because of heavy imbalancing between the two ways to acquire victory.

One does not care for the other's victory conditions. The thing is, though, that you aren't able to play different objectives in Head to Head, if I remember correctly, don't cite me on this, due to Balancing. I can agree upon, that there are better ways. Severely limiting features in multiplayer will only deter people from the game. Why not extend this to multiplayer? For new players a $200+ price tag is insane for a single game. Much like TWW works in singleplayer, don't have Beastmen, yea you can still play the campaign and the Beastmen still appears in your campaign, its just not a playable race for you.

If any of the players don't have the DLC, they just can't play the faction/features of that DLC but other players can.

Anyone can play with a random stranger regardless of what DLC they own.

Examples being Warhammer Vermintide, Ashes of Singularity, Galactic Civilizations 3 and also Stellaris. Lots of other games do not penalize their customer in multiplayer. Remake the multiplayer campaign multiple times and i still can't select it. The TK faction is there in the list but its greyed out, EVEN in Head to Head.
